Conducted in Centerville. , Infant Swimming Research is a ' nationally based program with 23 years of research aimed - at the safest most . efficient method of teaching young children and infants how to survive in water. -' - Kristy Nelson,'- owner-manager of Centerville, is a young mother; 2" with two small children of her own, ; both of whom are ISR swimmers. She is a 198S graduate of Brigham Young University School of Nurs-. Nurs-. ing, She moved to Centerville last December and is employed in the jpecial-care- nursery - at-' LDS Hospital. Kristy is a certified instructor with ISR and takes an annual recer-. tification class from Dr. Harvey Bamett, founder of the ISR school. She said her goal is to teach parents and children aquatic survival sur-vival so that they are not a statistic ' in the epidemic rate of drownings among children and infants., ... - - "We provide private lessons four . times a week, which enables a child : to learn fast and to retain what has been learned-even up to 95 to 98 . percent after being out of the water , . for one year," she said.
