Show Retirees from Monte Vista honored at open house : 4 " ) . 'I Two Davis County District employees at Monte Vista Center will retire at the close of this school year. An open house will be held in their honor at Monte Vista School, 100 S. 200 E.Farmington, on Tuesday, May 23, from 3:30-5 p.m. Everyone is invited. Laura Broughton will retire after 20 years of teaching special education edu-cation at Monte Vista School. She graduated from Utah State University Univer-sity with a degree in foods and nutrition and holds a certificate, in special education from the University Univer-sity of Utah. Her husband, Herbert E. Broughton, is a retired teacher, and they are the parents of four children: Wade, Collin, Mylea and Aurlisa. Their youngest daughter, Aurlisa, attended Monte Vista. Laura will be greatly missed by the staff, as her experience, knowledge knowl-edge and service have been utilized and appreciated by those with whom she has worked. She is an extremely ex-tremely dedicated teacher, and each child is special to her, as indicated by her dedicated concern for their needs. She has given many special education students a good start toward independence and security. Renee' Jensen will conclude 11 years of employment as secretary of the ' Davis Diagnostic Resource Center, located at the Monte Vista Center. Her 'competence as secretary, secre-tary, receptionist, typist, clerk, organizer, mediator, and friend, LAURA BROUGHTON have made her the heart of the center. The diagnosticians with whom she works will feel the loss of Renee's dedication, dependability dependabili-ty and many capabilities. Renee's experience before coming com-ing into the education field included working (4-5 years) with Riter Engineers En-gineers and many years with Wasatch Wa-satch Electric Company. She has always had a soft spot for children who need extra help and has enjoyed en-joyed her work with the Diagnostic Center.
