' STRINGHAM Eleven Davis Co. leaders named to Board of i rustees Eleven business and civic leaders .,in southern Davis County have been named to the Board of Trustees of the non-profit Davis School District Foundation, a charitable organiza-. organiza-. tion securing private contributions to fund student enrichment and learning programs. ; Area board members include Martin Blundell, Bountiful, owner of Screenprint Design; Sherry Johnson. West Bountiful, author and lecturer: Dr. Richard Kendell, Bountiful; superintendent of the Davis County School District; Nancy Lyon," Bountiful, executive director of the Foundation Founda-tion and a member of the Utah House of Representatives; Ralph Mabey, Bountiful, managing partner part-ner of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Lieby and MacRae; Jon Memmott, Farm-ington, Farm-ington, attorney with Nielson and Senior. Also Shauna Nakaya, Bountiful, Davis County PTA, John P. "Jack" Redd, Bountiful, president of J. P. Redd, Inc.; Scott Steorts, Bountiful, chairman Of Bruce Transfer and Storage; Lynn Summerhays, partner in The Boyer Company and president presi-dent of the Davis County School Board; and Dr. William Stringham, Bountiful, senior vice president of Shipley Associates. C. Patrick Bates, president of C. Patrick Bates Land .Company, is chairman.of the board. Layton investment in-vestment 'manager Noall J. Bennett serves as secretary-treasurer. - The Foundation's mission is to "forge an essential partnership"' allowing individuals and business firms to contribute cash donations, -property, equipment and trust in- , come to ; an individual school, specific program or curriculum project pro-ject or the complete Davis County School District educational system. The . contributions, often tax-deductible, tax-deductible, ' are used for student programs which, in tight economic times, cannot be funded through the normal budgetary process. Participating firms have included Chevron, Smith's Management Corporation and Unisys. In the 1988-89 school year, more than 50 firms 'and individuals have contributed con-tributed to the Foundation. Other " Davis County board members include Kathie Bone, Loucnda Downs and Kathy Oviatt, ' Layton; Bryan Gray; Fruit Heights; Col. Lloyd McCoin, Hill Air Force Base; and Mayor Delore Thurgood, Syracuse. . |
