U - Representatives from the Bonneville Bicycle Touring Club, 4-H Clubs, Girl Scouts and Boy "Scouts met recently with Davis County Commissioners to witness the signing of the 'Safe Kids : Week" proclamation. Director of Mental Health honored Dr. Russell A. Williams,, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Davis County Mental Health Center, was presented with the - Region VDJ Distinguished Service Award at a recent New York City conference of the National Council of. Community Mental Health Centers. Dr. Williams, was nominated nomi-nated for this honor by Mary Ellen Leatham,' chairperson of Davis ' Mental Board of Trustees and Bill 1 Patenaude, president of the Mental 1981 to 1984,' and Is Utah's representative rep-resentative on the board. - ; Dr. Williams serves ' on . the. Alcohol, Drug and Mental Services of Davis County,' Inc. Board of Trustees, and on the Utah Council of Mental Health Programs. He has been president and legislative liaison liai-son of the Council. He helped to organize and is the past president of the Utah Association of Alcohol and Drag Program Providers. He has been instrumental in developing ; Davis Mental Health. , "Dr. Williams is an individual of vision and integrity, a caring human being who is committed to making our community, state and nation a ', better place in which to live. It is especially appropriate that he should receive local recognition for this national award at this particular time since May has been designated as National Mental Health month," Mrs. Leatham concludes.
