Show Salt Lake conference, to discuss roles of women in athletics comply with Title IX, sports medicine, med-icine, careers in athletic administration, administra-tion, equitable physical education curriculum in schools, motivation of girls and women in sports, effective effec-tive middle and junior high school athletic programs, scholarship opportunities op-portunities for women and minorities, how to get the community communi-ty involved in girls athletics, the " reality of financing athletics, keeping keep-ing programs in compliance and socialization's impact on girls and women in Utah in sports. The conference is designed for administrators, athletic directors, coaches, principals, teachers, parents and student athletes. ' The first two days of the con- ' ference will be dedicated to a soccersoftball workshop for coaches ' involved in , those two sports which will become sanctioned sanction-ed programs in Utah high schools 'thisfall.' . The conference is co-sponsored by the Utah State Office of Edu- : cation, the Mountain West Educa- tional Equity Center, and the Utah Network for Girls and Women in Sports. Conducted by Dr. Jane Miner of , the University of Utah, the two-day workshop will discuss philosophy and sports psychology on the even- ing of June 13, with a full-day of : workshops on June 14 discussing sports pedagogy, physiologysports medicine, management, specific in-' in-' struction plans and specific skills for both soccer and softbalL i ... The Utah High School Activities , Asscciation will sanction both those sports next school year, with girls'; ' soccer beginning play this fall and Softball next spring.
