Marriage is palatable only when taken with a grain of salt Exotic game birds released Utah's exotic game bird program pro-gram took another step forward for-ward recently with the release of whitewing pheasants in Washington County. This was the third release of these exotic game birds in southern Utah. The first two plants were made near Kanab in Kane County in 1965. The whitewing pheasant is one of the exotic birds the Department De-partment of Fish and Game has been propagating on its game farms for release into selected se-lected sites where these birds may become established and provide huntable populations. The whitewing is adapted to the hotter, drier agricultural lands, and the initial plants in Kane County appear to be successful. suc-cessful. With releases being made |
