Show Baseball team hmfs record Springville High School's tiaseball team, coached by Kar- ol Bills, is currently one of the top teams in the state with an 8-0 win record to date. The Red Devil team is composed com-posed of players who have been together since their WBBA playing days and have been encouraged en-couraged all along the diamond trail by their parents who are staunch supporters of the boys and justly proud of their current cur-rent record. Catcher for the Devils is Lynn Wardle; Bobby Liddiard, who is the team captain, plays shortstop; Rick Orr, outfield; Boyd Van Patten, outfield; Russ Haymond, second; Karl Jensen, pitch and outfield; Mike Johnson, first; Bruce Childs, pitch, outfield; Steve Hall, pitch, outfield; Paul Blanchard, third; Dennis Mason, Ma-son, outfield; Scott Mower, second; sec-ond; Richard Johnson, third; Steve Averett, pitch and second; sec-ond; Wayne Hall, catcher and John Clark, first. Schedule Friday, April 15, the Red Devils will play the BY High at Provo beginning at 3:30. The following Tuesday, April 19, the Devils play a league encounter with Provo here on the . Pony League diamond at 3:30. April 22, BBY High will come to the Red Devil diamond; dia-mond; April 26, Carbon at Carbon; Car-bon; April 27, Orem here; April Ap-ril 28, Lehi here and May 3, Spanish Fork here. League games total 4 and include the Payson, Provo, Spanish Fork and Carbon games. The Pay-son Pay-son game has been played with Springville winning it 13-5. Scores of the games played to date are as follows: Springville Spring-ville 20, American Fork, 2; Springville 10, Orem 5; Springville Spring-ville 9, American Fork 6; Springville 6, Pleasant Grove 2; Springville 5, Lehi 0; Springville 13, Payson 5; Springville 18, St. Francis 1; Sprigville 11, Pleasant Grove 2. Winners of the north and south division in the region will play for a berth in the semi-finals of the Class A schools. |
