Chamber of Commerce initiates annual drive for memberships The 1966 membership drivel can be broadly defined as, 1 can be broadly defined as "People, working together, to make their community a better bet-ter place in which to live and to make a living," the president presi-dent noted. . The 1966 membership drive of the Springville Chamber of Commerce is due for a lift-off this week, as the annual campaign cam-paign gets underway. It will run until February 1, according to Jack Allen, president. George R. Bird, vice president, presi-dent, and Taylor C. Burt, immediate im-mediate past president, will act as co-chairman of the act as co-chairmen of the drive, assisted by all members of the board. Using the slogan "Go, Go, Go in '66 with your Springville Chamber of Commerce" the committee members will contact con-tact all business and professional profes-sional men and women in this area as well as interested cit-ezens, cit-ezens, Mr. Allen said. It is desired to also secure family memberships at $5 each to further fur-ther the work of promoting Springville. The workers will be divided into two teams and the group which is most successful in procuring new members or renewing re-newing memberships will be the guests of the losing team at dinner following the close of the drive. An ambitious program for the coming year is being planned plan-ned for Chamber members. This will include eight business busi-ness promotions which will be geared to public appeal and honest bargains for residents of Central Utah. The Chamber executive committee com-mittee has outlined, nine major ma-jor goals wheh are to be followed fol-lowed in an effort to improve busiiness and industrial development devel-opment in this area.
