Patricia Whitney, Marian Roper set late summer wedding date Announcement is made this week of the engagement and approaching marriage of attractive Miss Patricia Whitney, Whit-ney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dclmar Whitney of this city, and Marian Roper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard M. Roper of Salem. The marriage is to take place at sundown Friday, August 13, in the Third-Ninth Ward Chapel with Bishop John William Powell of Payson, an uncle of the bride, performing per-forming the ceremony. A reception will follow in the cultural cul-tural center of the church. Standing in the bridal line will be Kathy Parson, Joy Wimmer, Ruth Cornaby, Kathy Carter, Mary Jane Bird, Kay Jacobsen, Sue White and Stacey Roper, the latter a flower girl. A graduate of Springville High School and LDS Seminar)', Sem-inar)', Miss Whitney will be a senior in college next year, having completed three years at Utah State University, Logan. Lo-gan. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and the Madrigal Choir at the university. Mr. Roper graduated from Spanish Fork High School and LDS Seminary. Lie attended College of Southern Utah at Cedar City two years and played varsity basketball and baseball. He has also graduated from pre-medical courses at Utah State University where he was affiliated with Sigma Chi Fraternity. Both plan to continue their education this fall. |
