Show Winners named in Chamber guessing event Winner in the "Mountain of Ice" contest which was conducted conduc-ted by the Springville Chamber of Commerce to publicize the annual Sidewalk Sale and Bazaar Ba-zaar conducted last Friday and Saturday was Joanne Allan, 979 East Center Street, who estimated esti-mated the 6,000 pounds of ice would be completely melted Sunday at 6:04 p.m. The official melting time has been established at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Joanne will receive prizes which will include a chaise lounge from Sullivan Awning; 100 lbs. Sugar, Allen's Market; watch band, Duke Jewelry, and a pen from the Gift Shop. Two other guesses were very close. With a guess of 6:00 p.m. Sunday, Floyd Gardner, 763 E. Center, Spanish Fork, will win prizes of a $5.00 savings account ac-count from the Springville Bank, and a gallon of paint from Kolob Lumber. Paul R. Patrick of Springville, also guessed 6:00 p.m. and will receive re-ceive a pocket knife from Seniors Sen-iors Hotel and a shirt from Jack's Toggery. Twenty-three other winners will be notified by phone as to where to pick up their prizes. There were nearly 1300 entries in the contest. A complete list of winners will be displayed iSaturday by all downtown business busi-ness houses who reported business busi-ness brisk during the 2-day sale event. Jack Allen, Don Terry, Champ Allen, Audrey Miner, and C. O. Ward of the Retail Merchants Committee directed the bazaar. |
