Show Elaine and Shauna of Boise, Idaho, are spending two weeks with Mrs. Rasmussen's sister, Mrs. Iris Dibble and family. They are also visiting with her brother and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Tippetts of Spring-ville. Spring-ville. Last week all three families fam-ilies went to the Tippetts reunion re-union in Ephraim, where they helped with the program for the day. Mapleton News Mrs. Blake Everett Mrs. Marion Marcy and her three daughters are spending the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Carnesecca. Mrs. Marcy's husband has been teaching English at the Queensburgh High School in Glens Falls, New York. He received re-ceived an NDEA grant for training at the Western Illinois Illin-ois University for the summer. He will come to Utah for his family when his schooling is over. Mrs. Lois Rasmussen and daughters, Barbara, Evelyn, The Lions Club held a dinner meeting at the Oak Crest Inn last week. Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Ogilvie and Mr. and Mrs Glen Mackenzie were in charge of arrangements for the party. A delightful evening of entertainment enter-tainment was given by Mrs. Jean Reese Jenkins. Mrs. Veon Morgan and daughters, Karen, Janet and Diane of Portland, Oregon have been visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaVell Bird and with her mother-in-law, Mrs. Marie Morgan. Another visitor at the Morgan home this week was Mrs. Guy Morgan and son Johnny from Phoenix, Arizona. Several 4-H Clubs from Mapleton Ma-pleton attended the outing at Aspen Grove last week. They camped over night and participated par-ticipated in all the activities such as hiking, programs, handicraft and cooking meals. There was a flag raising ceremony cere-mony In the morning and a full schedule for the entire time they were there. Leaders who took their groups were: Opal Spencer, Norma Johnson, Pat Fleggar, Colleen Peay and Wil-bma Wil-bma Barker. Victor Rowberry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Rowberry was in the hospital last week for an appendix, operation. He is home now, and apparently making a speedy recovery. The fire department was called last week to extinguish the flames in an automobile engine. Mrs. Bob Daley had her family in the car ready to go to town when the engine burst into flames. She called a neighbor and finally the fire department before it was put out. |
