Show Services held Monday for Mapleton lady Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Mapleton Ma-pleton Ward Chapel, for Mrs. Myrtle Peterson Bird, 74, who died in a Salt Lake nursing home, January 7, 1965, after a short illness. Bishop Harold Gividen presided at the services serv-ices She was born Dec. 10, 1890, in Mapleton, a daughter of August Au-gust and Emmi Williams Peterson. Peter-son. She had lived in Mapleton all her life, until ten years ago. On May 14, 1913, she married mar-ried Vernon Ray Bird in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and he died a number of years ago. Active in the LDS Church, she had participated in Relief Society and MIA activities and was a member of the Daughters Daugh-ters of Utah Pioneers. She worked in a Mapleton cafe for many years and after moving to Salt Lake City, she worked at Deseret Gymnasium. Survivors include the following follow-ing sons and daughters: Mrs Lyman (Elaine) Parcell, Provo; Orwin A. Bird, Jess Bird and Arthur Bird, all of Salt Lake City; Donald L. Bird, Rochester, Roches-ter, Minn.; Larry Bird, Fremont, Fre-mont, Ohio; and Mrs. Irene Bird Devoe of Lansing, Mich.; a sister, Mrs Malcolm (Hilda) Waddell, Modesto, Calif.; 22 grandchildren. |
