Show 5 Public imitei U view rose show here Friday Completed plans were announced an-nounced this week for the -Springville Rose show being J sponsored by the Art City Gar-rlen Gar-rlen Club on Friday, in the "lobby of the Springville Bank. ' ;.' An invitation is extended to .he public to see the show and .fm urgent request is given all those who grow roses, to enter them in the show. Officers announce there will be a $10 cash prize as the grand prize and $5 prize for the best in each classification as well ke ten $1 prizes. Officers stress that only two entries in each of the three classificai.ons will be allowed a single rose, three roses of a kind or an arrangement featuring fea-turing roses. Containers will be furnished by the club and all. entries must be at Ibe bank before 9 a.m. to be judged. It is suggested that roses for the show, should be about three-fourth open or when four or five of the outside petals are starting to curl open and the inside petals are still fairly tight. This of course depends on the variety, they point out. The name of the rose, if it is known, should accompany the entry. Assisting with arrangements for the show, are Mrs. Gwen Tippetts, Mrs. LaVoy Bailey, Mrs. Grace Alleman and Mrs. Wilda Oakley. Club officers, Mrs. Shirley Nielson, Mrs. Eugena Carlen and Mrs. Elsie Robertson may be contacted for other details concerning the show. |
