Show Millard's 'Old CapitolDays' set for July 30 to Aug. 14 FILLMORE - Millard County's "Old Capital Days" will be July 30 through Aug. 14 this year. Productions of "Hello Dolly" will be July 30 and 31 at 7 p.m. in the Delta High School. The Miss Millard County Queen Contest will be Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. in the Millard High School. There will be Chamber of Commerce Day activities, including bike races on Aug. 9 in Fillmore. These will continue Aug. 10 with an evneing dance and a hor seshoe tournament. On Aug 11, there will be a Mountain Men Village at the North Park at 4 p.m. From 5 to 7 p.m. will be the Pioneer Supper at the North Park, followed at dusk by the "Chief Kanosh Pageant." On Aug. 12 there will be a 4-H meal preparation contest at 10 a.m., and at 4 p.m. there will again be a Mountain Men Village, all on the North Park. A pioneer supper will be served from 5 to 7 p.m., and a barbershop quartet contest will entertain en-tertain visitors at 7 p.m. Again, the "Chief Kanosh Pageant" will be at dusk. On Aug. 13, 4-H Fun day begins at 9 a.m. Exhibits will open at 10 a.m. The egg preparation contest will be at 10:30 a.m., with games, sports and a pie eating contest from 1 to 3 p.m. The 4-H horse show will be at 5 p.m., with a talent show at 6 p.m. In addition on that day, the Mountain Men Village will again be at 4 p.m. at the North Park. A pioneer supper will be served from 5 to 7 p.m., and the "Chief Kanosh Pageant" will begin at dusk. On Aug. 14, a 10,000 meter fun run will begin at 8 a.m. There w will be trophies, medals and T-shirts. A King Cook-Out Contest will be at 9 a.m., and exhibits will open again at 10 a.m. An open horse show will also begin at 10 a.m., with horse races at 1 p.m. There will be games, sports and contests from 1 to 5 p.m. Again, the mountain men village will be open at 4 p.m., a pioneer supper will be served from 5 to 6 p.m., and the "Chief Kanosh Pageant" will begin at dusk. |
