Show President sherratt Inauguration ceremony slated be no charge for the ceremony, tickets will be required. Tickets will be available at all ticket outlets. After the ceremony, at noon, will be a luncheon in the Student Center Ballrooms. Tickets for the luncheon will be $6 and are available at the Student Center office. Culminating the two days will be the historic Cedar City debut concert of the American Folk Ballet. Burch Mann, founder and choreographer, recently announced her intention to move the Ballet's artistic and education r headquarters to Cedar City and the SUSC campus. "The Ballet's repetoire of dance from ballet to tap and clogging will have something for everyone and the explosive finale has got to be seen to be believed," Thompson Thomp-son said. Tickets for the gala and dance concert con-cert are $8 and $6, respectively. However if purchased together, tha combined tickets will be $12. I j v ' CEDAR CITY President Gerald R. Sherratt will be inaugurated as the thirteenth president of Southern Utah State in ceremonies and activities tomorrow and Saturday. The actual inauguration will be performed Saturday at 10 a.m. in the SUSC Auditorium. "This inauguration is extraordinary in that it is a homecoming as much as it is an academic ceremony," said Douglas Thompson, Chairman of the Inauguration Committee. Sherratt is a graduate of SUSC and a descendant of some of the founders of the institution. "We have tried as much as possible to capture that 'welcome home' feeling in our planning," Thompson explained. The opening event is a 3 p.m. Friday reception in the president's home, 331 West 200 South, hosted by the Associated Students of Southern Utah State College. "It was President Sherratt's desire that students be involved in-volved to the utmost," said Debbie Evans, the student member of the Inauguration Committee and chairman for the reception. "That is why we wanted to begin the activities with a student-oriented activity. Everyone is invited, the general public, faculty and students alike, but we are making a special effort to have students meet the president," Evans emphasized. College vans will leave the reception area every ten minutes to escort visitors for short motor tours of the campus. Visitors can then choose from six walking tours to better acquaint them with the college. Buildings will have special displays or demonstrations demon-strations depicting the activities or interests of the discipline housed in the building. There will also be mini-concerts mini-concerts or demonstrations going on all afternoon in the Adams Memorial Theatre. At 8 p.m. Friday evening the Inauguration gala, a variety show featuring Burch Mann's American Folk Ballet, will be staged. Appearing with the Ballet will be Russ Tamblyn, star of stage and screen, remembered best for his performance in the movie "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." Jimmy Rogers, who popularized such songs as "Honeycomb," "Kisses Sweeter than Wine," and "Windmills of Your Mind," will also be featured. Filling out the entertainment will be Billie Loukas, a sparkling soprano who has sung with Fred Waring and Lawrence Welk, and Warren Burton, a musical comedian who has appeared on Johnny Carson, Dinah Shore and virtually vir-tually every other TV talk show. The inauguration ceremony will begin at 9:50 a.m. with an academic procession from the Thorley Recital Hall to the auditorium. A salutation will be given by Governor Scott Matheson, and the inauguration will be performed by Kem Gardner, chairman of the Utah State Board of Regents. The Inaugural will be given by Dr. John Berhard, President at Western Michigan University and a close friend of President Sherratt.
