Show Tough battle in Senior Little League First Interstate Bank squeaked by Coke 9-8 in the first game of Senior Little League action last week. The Pearson brothers took turns on the mound to pick-up the win with R. Pearson and J. Whetman getting doubles. Singles were smacked by C. Jones, C. Whetman and R. Harris. Lundberg went the distance for Coke and Reber and Crandal got doubles. Petty, Weaver and Reber (2) hit singles. It was Rolling Rubber six and State Bank three with L. Widdick picking up the win. Singles for the winners were hit by D. Bulloch, R. Dean (2), S. Anderson and C. Woodbury. Throwing for State Bank were G. Olds and Cardon. Cardon, Esplin and Olds singled. t'PN defeated TWA 11-6 with S. Stapel on the mound. Stout and Neilson doubled - and singles were hit by Stout (2), Ipson, B. Stapel, Church (2) and Hulet. Hinton went the distance for TWA. Hinton and Cole doubled and Hinton, Black, Starr (4) and Prestwich singled. For CAPCO it was Im-boden Im-boden on the mound for a 7-3 victory over Del Rich. Hits lor the winners included" in-cluded" a double by Walker, and singles by Walker, Batiste, Im-boden, Im-boden, Heap and Peterson. R. Hulet went the distance for Del Rich and he and Turner (2) led the hitting with doubles. Englestead (2), Gubler and B. Smith belted singles. FIB picked up a big 17-2 win over State Bank with R. Pearson on the mound. Pearson also tripled and singled. A. Pearson doubled and Jones got a couple of singles. L. Taylor singled lor State Bank. TWA slipped by Rolling Rubber 10-9 with Hinton and Starr sharing mound duties. Lopour and Roundy tripled while Lopour, Hinton, Cole (2), Koundy, Prestwich (2) and K. Bryant singled. For Rolling Rubber, Leigh and . Anderson shared mound duty with Widdick getting a couple of doubles and singles being hit by D. Bulloch, H. Dean, S. Leigh (3), Widdick, Chidester and S. Anderson. Coke picked up another win over Del Rich in an 8-5 8-5 game. Lundberg and Crandall were the winning win-ning pitchers and doubles were hit by Petty and Crandall. Smith and Sorenson threw for Del Rich, with singles being hit by Englestead, Turner, R. Hylet, Bishop, B. Smith and T. Sorenson; The week ended with CAPCO losing to CPN. B. Stapels and S. Pickett doubled and Stapels singled. Other singles were hit by Stout (2), J. Ipson and B. Linlord. Walker went the distance for CAPCO and Imboden doubled. Base-hits were smacked by Walker (2), Batiste (3) and Heap (2). American League race is close pitchers. Helping to rack up the points for Spilsbury were Scott Garrett with a homerun and Jason Felstead and Troy McKinnon with doubles. Todd Story, Garrett, and Felstead threw. After 9 innings of play the Carter Brothers versus Kiwanis game remains tied 17-17 and will be finished at a later time. Boyers picked up an 8-3 win over 7-11 and an exciting 14-13 come from behind win over Carter Brothers. In the first game Todd Boyer and Charlie White shared mound duty while doubles were hit by Richard Cano, Tony Bigelow and Shaun Morrell. In the second game, Boyers was trailing Carter Brothers 13-2 at the middle of the 5th inning. A single by Ryan Steffanson started scoring barrage which resulted in 9 runs for Boyers. Holding Carter Brothers scoreless in the top of the 6th Boyers then scored three runs in the bottom of the 6th to win the game. Todd Boyer and Charlie White shared the mound and Bigelow doubled. For Carter Brothers, the throwing was done by Kirt Rosenberg, Derek Giles and Scott Bonzo. Rosenberg and Dale Bagley doubled. Other play during the week saw 7 UP picking up a 12-6 win over Coleman with Craig Marchant on' the mound. This was done in spite of Shawn Wright's homerun and Brett Allred's double for Coleman. Wright, Kurtis Roundy and Lance Taylor took a turn on the mound. Coleman's 14-7 win over Kiwanis came with Brian Workman, Wright and Taylor on the mound. A homerun by Wright and doubles by Wright and Allred were the big blows for Coleman. Scott Hulet went the distance for Kiwanis and Jason Slack doubled. .Realty World held on to its first place position in the American League with a heart-stopping eight inning 9-8 victory over Ken Bettridge. At the end of six the score was 7-7. The 7th inning saw no score but in the top of the 8th Robbie Knight singled and scored for Bettridge. In the bottom of the 8th, Shad Leeder singled and then scored on Delynn Corry's homerun which ended the game in a blaze of excitement. Leeder also doubled for the winners and it was Glenn Jump and Corryon the mound. Hayley Briggs and Clay Tom threw for Bettridge and the hitting included doubles by Michael McNaught (2), Brett Barton (2), Briggs and Steven Messer(2). Earlier in the week Realty World defeated Spilsbury 22-6 with Shad Leeder and Jason Bat-tiste Bat-tiste throwing. Doubles were hit by Leeder and Delynn Corry (2). The second place team, Rotary, picked up a 14-1 win over 7-11 and a 15-3 victory over 7 UP. In the 7-11 game Travis Blake and Greg Frehner shared mound duties and doubles were hit by Frehner (2), Chris Weaver (2), Blake (2) and Stacey Palerm (2). Kevin Schramm and Shane Gifford threw for .7-11. Rotary's victory over 7 UP came as a result of a grand-slam homerun by pitcher Chris Weaver and doubles by Greg Frehner and Merilee Tom. Greg Sanders went the distance for 7 UP and Aaron Nelson doubled. It was a week for grand-slams as Gale Riddle led Bettridge to a 23-16 victory over Spilsbury . in the second game Monday with a homerun with the bases loaded. Other hits for the winners included doubles by Robbie Knight, John Wieland, Riddle, Brett Barton and Michael McNaught. Barton and Knight were the winning |
