Show Two officers honored j Saaaee SanBnaalk .iaaauk ySaiKm I miM kAAl Two Iron County Sheriff's Deputies recently re-cently received shooting honors at the Utah Peace Officers' Convention" in Vernal. According to Sheriff Ira Schoppmann, Detective Gordon Adams and Deputy Kick Evans represented the Iron County Sheriff 's Office at the Convention this year and participated in the shooting competition which is held in connection con-nection with the Convention. Con-vention. In the combat shooting competition, Adams received the award for third place in the Master Category. Evans' total aggregate score gained him Second Place in the Marksman Class. Adams also placed Third on the Governor's Twenty Team. This is an honor given to the top twenty shooters in the State of Utah, and each are presented with a Certificate Cer-tificate from Governor Scott Matheson. The two did very well in the shooting competitions, reported Sheriff Ira Schoppmann. received medals and cash prizes for their scores in the individual matches which . are shot to obtain the total aggregate score. The Convention is conducted once a year and is sponsored by the Utah Peace Officers which is an organization that represents all of the officers in the State of Utah. Next year the Convention will be in St. George. |
