Show Summertime is salad time By JANET H. WEAVER Record Correspondent I promised you more summertime salad recipes and here they are. Thanks again go to LaJean Knell. LEMON SURPRISE SALAD Dissolve 1 pkg. lemon jello with 1 cup boiling water. Cook for 10 . minutes: 1 small can crushed pineapple, Vi cup cold water, 1 cup lemon juice, ' cup sugar. Add cooked mixture to dissolved jello and set overnight. Cut into squares and dump into the bottom of a large bowl. Then fold following ingredients into jello carefully so as not to break jello apart: lk pint cream, whipped and sweetened 1 cup grated nippy cheese 2-3 sliced bananas -xk cup chopped nuts Mix very lightly FRUIT, VEGETABLE, NUT SALAD Dissolve 1 pkg. lime jello in 1 cup hot water; add 1 cup diced mar-shmellows mar-shmellows and dissolve. Add 1 can crushed pineapple and jell. Add: 1 cup chopped nuts 2 cups shredded cabbage cab-bage 1 cup whipped cream 4 cup salad dressing. CUCUMBER SALAD 1 pkg. lime jello 1 cup hot water 1-3 tsp. onion juice 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vinegar 1 cup sour cream 1 cup finely cut cucumber Dissolve jello in hot water, add salt, vinegar and onion juice. Chill until syrupy then fold in cream, mayonnaise and cucumbers. Chill overnight and serve on a lettuce leaf. We have a request for good summertime meals.
