Ruth Dalton, a longtime long-time resident at southern Utah, has been hired by the Southwest Utah District Health Department Depart-ment as Community Health Educator. Mrs. Dalton will work with the community in the area of health education in helping the public to create personal iifestlyes which help promote long and rewarding lives. As the Community Health Educator, Dalton will be involved directly with the communities of the district by holding seminars, working with organizations, schools, district health nurses, and the local media. A graduate of Brigham Young University with a B.S. degree in Health Education, Mrs. Dalton taught physical education at Piute High School and Woodward Junior High School. She believes that exercise is a vital part of a healthy life and is an enthusiastic jogger. Ruth and her husband Bob are residents of St. George where they are strong supporters of the arts. They have five children. "It is important that we assume personal responsibility for our own health," Dalton said, "and we must make a conscious effort to make healthful decisions concerning our lifestyles. The quality of our life is strongly influenced by the quality of our health. |
