Show . J " 1 H Willie to seek school board John C. Willie, St. George, recently announced an-nounced his candidacy for a position on the Utah State Board of Education. A 15-year resident of Washington County, Mr. Willie is completing his eighth year as a member of the Washington County School Board and is currently serving as Board President. A private businessman working as a consulting planner and landscape architect, Mr. Willie said he is familiar on a firsthand first-hand basis with most of the cities, towns and counties in the district he will represent. As a father of 5 school-age school-age children, Willie stated that he is a strong believer in the Utah educational system and feels that it is the best anywhere. "Innovative leadership to help solve the many problems of the 80s including such things as rapid growth and limited tax dollars, will help to maintain the quality education system that we now enjoy." he said. Mr. Willie was born in Brigham City and educated in the Box Elder County School District. He is a graduate of Utah State University and presently maintains his own business in St. George. He feels that he has the time to spend and is willing to share that time in serving the residents of Utah. |
