Show Dixie College News At the last Thursday evening meeting of the college Faculty Women's club Mrs. Verna Call reviewed Emily Kimbrough's book, "We Followed Our Hearts to Hollywood". Hol-lywood". Those who are successful will receive re-ceive special college training for a year following their graduation from high school this spring. D. J. C. A basketball team of college girls went to Cedar City last Thursday to play in a Red Cross benefit game with the B. A. C. The Dixie girls win 48-17. Two high school teams from Hurricane played the local high school girls here Monday. The Flyerettes won 20-10 and 42-5. D. J. C. Initiation of new members into the Omega Delta club will take place next Thursday night. Prominent Prom-inent members of the "Green Vine", cast will be eligible to join the club, if they have not been previously invested. D. J. C The Festival play, "The Green Vine", was played in Panguitch Monday night for the benefit of a Panguitch child who has an unusual un-usual illness. A large crowd attended, at-tended, it is reported, and the play went over well. D. J.C. The basketball intramurals, in both the boys and girls divisions, were completed last week. More than 80 students participated in these games, with a number of interesting contests being witnessed witnes-sed by many more students. The team winning the boys division di-vision was captained by Walter Snow. Playing on his squad were Dean Webb, Loraine Milne, Paul Thompson, Paul LaMar Wilkin, Stanford Stirling and Clark Webb. A group of girls from Leeds won the girls championship. They called themselves the Triple L's, but did not reveal their true title until the end of the playing season sea-son "Leeds' League Leaders". Playing on this aggregation were Melba Sullivan, Karma Sullivan, Ileene Stirling, Elaine Stirling, Katherine Stirling, Laurel McMullin, McMul-lin, Cherril McMullin and Barbara McMullin. |
