Show Eight Counties Send Representatives To 4-H Meet At Cedar By DELLA KENDALL War Food Assistant As a climax to 4-H club week, which was proclaimed by Governor Gover-nor Herbert B. Maw to be Mar. 3 to 11, a 4-H club school was held at -the Branch Agricultural College, Cedar City on March 8, 9, and 10 for eight Southern Utah counties Beaver, Iron, Millard, Washington, Kane, Garfield, Piute and Wayne. Henry Obersansley, director of B. A. C. gave a hearty welcome to the directors, extension specialists, special-ists, county agents and club leaders. lead-ers. He was introduced by Co. Agent . LaMont E. Tueller from Cedar City, who also welcomed the group to Cedar City. David Sharp and Miss Fern Shipley, State club leaders, were in charge of the club school. Some very interesting and important im-portant discussions were given by Kenneth W. Ingwalson, field agent of the Western States from Washington, Wash-ington, D. C. "Fundamentals 'of 4-H Club Work," "4-H in Peace and War" and "Earmarks of a Successful Club" were topics discussed. dis-cussed. Specialists from the college who were in charge of the different phases of club work were W. W. Owens, director; R. L. Wrigley, assistant director; Myrtle Davidson, David-son, assistant director; Rhea Hurst, war food preservation supervisor; Mrs. Marietta N. White, extension nutrition specialist; Mrs. Lois Peel Smith, extension clothing specialist; Mrs. Effie S. Barrows, extension home furnishing specialist; spec-ialist; Major George Henderson, extension livestock specialist; and Alma C. Esplin, extension Sheep and wool specialist.
