Show F. F. A. Banquet Draws Large Crowd Saturday Problems Of Interest To F. F. A. Members Discussed by Nuttall HURRICANE. Utah Hurricane chapter of the F. F. A. staged its annual Parents-Sons banquet and program Saturday evening. March 10. in the Hurricane high gym. Plates were served to 130, including in-cluding several special guests. Verdell Hinton. chapter president, was master of ceremonies. The banquet was provided by the F. F. A. and served by the Home Economics department. Mark Nichols of the State Board of Agriculture, who was to have been the main speaker, was unavoidably un-avoidably detained in Salt Lake City. Principal Maurice Nuttall of the Hurricane high gave the address. Talks were also made by Milton E. Moody, county school superintendent, W. B. Mathis and Edgar R. Simpson of St. George, E. J. Graff of Hurricane, and Heber Hirschi of Rockviile. James Jepson, who plowed the first furrow fur-row on Hurricane flat, gave a l reading. - The program otherwise included "America" by the congregation; prayer, James Jepson; address. Junior Eagar, F. F. A. officer; sopg, Berdell Ruesch; harmonica solo, Clarence Sanders; cornet I solo, Arvon Hinton; instrumental trio, Arch Ballard, Newell DeMille ' and Miss Nelda Cox; vocal solo, Ivan Barrett. Honorary degrees were presented to I. H. Bradshaw : by his son, Ira W. Bradshaw, and I . to Allen J. Stout by his son, Hal i Stout. As a special feature Robert ! Langston gave his F. F. A. speech, ; "Post War Agriculture," with : which he won second place in the : district public speaking contest held at Cedar City on March 9. |
