Show VOICE OF THE PEOPLE I have some questions which I believe should be put in the paper in order to reach the right people. Who is there in our town that we can hire ' to cut some wood, spade a rod square of ground, clean up a lot and get it ready for spring planting? Who is there that we can hire to help clean house in the spring, or do a washing or ironing?. Who can we call on when we are in need of help? It seems to me that unless one belongs to a club or clique they have no one to go to when they are in need. I believe there are some men in the community over 50 that would be glad to do odd jobs if tehy could be paid a satisfactory wage for the same. I believe there are old men who cannot farm or do professional work that would be glad to help increase their earnings, if only those of us who need the help and would pay could know on whom to call. I believe there are school children who would like to earn a little spending money if they knew of work they could get. So many little things come along each day that we would be glad to pay a reasonable price to have done if we knew on whom to call. I had to have a handle put on my ax. It cost me $1.95 at a garage. I have often had such a job done for 25c or a "thank you", but not so today. I want a young boy to climb up and fix the shades on my porches. Who can I get? I want my chicken coop cleaned out. Who can I get? I wish some individual or organization could take this idea over and register those who want work, so that we will know where to get help when we need it. Mr. and Mrs. Public, what do you think? Signed, ST. GEORGE CITIZEN |
