Show TOQUERVILLE Mrs. Rowena W. Slack Reporter Tuesday evening Mrs.' Bessie Fish entertained the Tulip Sewing Circle at her home. This was the closing of their summer's work. Nine girls and their mothers were entertained with games and refreshments. re-freshments. Mrs. B. F. Forsythe left Thursday Thurs-day for Tropic to visit relatives for a short time. Leon Slack and daughters Marilyn Mari-lyn and Evadeen, of Los Angeles, and Onzel Weech of Compton, left on Sunday after a two weeks' trip through California, Idaho and Utah. Pvt. Garfield Lorrett left for Camp Maxey, Texas, Sunday, where he will report for further training. He has just finished his 17 weeks of basic training in Camp Roberts, California. Mrs. Andrew Olds has been in bed the past week with a badly sprained ankle. Mr. and Mrs. Riley Slack and children Steven and Karen, of Compton, California, are visiting at the homes of his father, W. H. Slack, and her sister, Mrs. Dan Kleinman. |
