HAMMER, Rodeo Chairman Huie Hughes, Trick Horses Many Features Assure Top Entertainment With cowboys registering from five states to date, and with all committees functioning like a well oiled machine, everything points to one of the finest Dixie Round-Up Round-Up celebrations that the St. George Lions have ever staged, declares E. X. Hammer, general program chairman. The program started off Wednesday night with a big Cowboy-Cowgirl dance and will carry through with entertainment scheduled sched-uled for every evening from about 6 p.m. on until the final performance perform-ance on Saturday night. Dances, parades, specialty performers, per-formers, a beautiful Rodeo Queen and her two attendants, all lend special color to the Pound-Up to rate this the outstanding entertainment enter-tainment of the year for St. George. Included in the specialty numbers will be Huie Hughes with his famous Ford and bag of tricks. Also Charley Brumley and his two trick horses. "Pal" and "Buddy." Chet Gilbert and his sound system will be on hand again to make it possible for Marion Snow to do his usual fine job of announcing. The stock will be furnished by the Jacobs Brothers. They have made a specialty of developing stock for these shows and their stock is being used in .some of the best shows in the west. The SS25 "added money" is creating considerable consid-erable interest among the contestants con-testants and is helping to bring them in from all the surrounding states," points out Mr. Hammer. As usual with the Dixie Round-Up Round-Up program, the three parades are listed among the most interesting inter-esting part of the program. The opening parade starts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. It will feature "old west, new west, victory and peace," will attract a large crowd, and will bring forth all the men and women and their saddle horses. The Junior Parade will start at 6:30 p.m. Friday and is always a parade to interest the mothers and fathers, and all who love children. The Beauty Parade, on Saturday night at 7:30, has built a reputation on the beauty of the local girls, that is known far and wide. "Don't miss this one," says Chairman Hammer. Mr. Hammer also expresses his appreciation' for the fine work that all committee chairmen and their members have done, and apologies for slipping up and not mentioning.
