Show Ruth Caroline Parker McMullin, 83, Dies at Leeds Sunday LEEDS. UTAH Ruth Caroline Parker McMullin, 83, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Jo-seph Stirling, Sunday, September 2, of ailments incident to age. She had been in poor health for three months following an attack of influenza. in-fluenza. Born in Beaver, Utah, early in 1862, she was a daughter of Robert Rob-ert and Ann Hartley Parker. Her parents were called to help colonize colon-ize extreme Southern Utah, and she came with them as a very small girl. They located at Washington, Wash-ington, where her father was made manager of the cotton factory fac-tory for a period, and later of the Washington Co-op. On January 10. 1882, she married mar-ried David McMullin of Leeds, in the St. George L D S Temple. He died in 1938. Both she and her husband were active in affairs of the L D S church. She served as nresident of the Leeds Ward Chil dren's Primary for 13 years, and for several years was president of the ward relief society. Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Attorney R. W. McMullin of Payson, Utah; Mark McMullin, Cedar City; Frank McMullin Mc-Mullin and Mrs. Joseph Stirling of Leeds; and Mrs. Frank Sullivan of Hurricane. She has 28 grandchildren grand-children and 27 great-grandchildren, eight of her grandsons being in military service. Funeral services were held in Leeds Ward Chapel Wednesday, September 5, with Bp. Stanley Fuller conducting. |
