Show Dixie College Faculty Ready to Register Students September 10 With a faculty meeting called for this afternoon, everything is in readiness for the opening of the Dixie College on Monday. September Septem-ber 10. Registration of all students will take place on that date commencing com-mencing at 9 a.m. All freshmen i third-year high school students! j are asked to meet in the auditorium audito-rium at that hour ..Ml other students stu-dents may register at any convenient conven-ient time between 9 and 12 a.m. or lxqween 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. All class work will commence on Tuesday, with the first assembly assem-bly of the year at 11 a.m. on that date. 1 Prospects for an increased en-1 rollment are good, with a number; of returned servicemen expected ! ne thn venr nrncrrs I The housing problem is still giv- ing the administration grave concern, con-cern, though it is expected that local citizens will cooperate in seeing that the students have a place to stay when they come from outside areas. All who can provide board and room or apartments apart-ments are asked to get in touch with President Glenn E. Snow immediately. There are many advantages ad-vantages in outside students coming com-ing to Dixie, both from the point of view of the citizen and the student. The college is making special plans to help the returning veteran vet-eran to adjust, particularly in the preparation for an immediate livelihood. live-lihood. Walter Brooks, former coach at Hurricane, will take care of the work vacated by Coach Stanley Watts; and Mrs. Thelma Bleak Barber will teach the piano work. Earl J. Bleak will spend full time at the college, and will handle the vocal as well as the instrumental work. |
