Show Oyer 100 M Men-Gleaners Attend M. I. A. Banquet In Arrowhead More than 100 M-Men and Gleaners Glean-ers ' attended the annual Stake M.I.A. banquet at the Arrowhead hotel banquet rooms last Saturday evening, Miss Evelyn Smith of the East ward and Earl Cox of the west ward walking off with the honors as presidents of their respective groups for 1941-1942, as shown by the ballot count. All four St. George wards and Washington Wash-ington ward were well represented. Mary Lou Wells, outgoing Gleaner president was program chairman and Schuyler Gardner of the Center ward M Men was toastmaster, introducing the numbers num-bers with clever puns and jokes. The program included a trombone solo "Calvary" by Norman Hunt, toast to the Gleaners by Waldo Brooks of the Center ward; trumpet trum-pet solo, Junior Walker, toast to the M-Men, LaPrele Wallace of the east ward; vocal solo "The Lost Chord" Clive Hartman; Ladies La-dies quartette, "My Rosary," Gwen Turner, Glenna Cooper, Neola Zahner and Roma Nisson of Washington Wash-ington ward; toast to "Life" Roma Nisson, Washington ward and vocal duet, D. C. Watson and Helen Pectol. |
