Show I Rationing Board Reports Rules Recently Issued Everyone Must Obtain No. 1 Ration Book Before Dec. 15, Is Order By VELMA MADSEN" Clerk, Washing-ton County Rationing Board Due to a release in the Salt Lake Tribune for last Sunday, many people are becoming confused about the issue of new sugar ration ra-tion books. Every person must be registered and obtain their Ration Ra-tion Book No. 1 before the 15th of December in order to be eligible eli-gible for Ration Book No. 2, when it is distributed. It is contemplated contem-plated that these books will be issued some time during January. However, this date will be fully publicized later. Passenger cars should be properly prop-erly registered and receive their Basic "A" from the War Price and Rationing board before the 13th of December. After that date no tire inspection record can be given out and as a result the car will not be allowed to operate The first allotment of Grade III tires and passenger recaps have been issued to the local board for distribution to holders of the Basic "A" ration book. Thiy is merely the advance allotment which will not take care of all the people who may need replacements replace-ments or recaps. The general idea is to preserve all recappable carcasses so that they will not be ruined by further running. Many people are beginning to purchase gasoline on their ration ra-tion books. It should be noted that the license number of the vehicles and the state of registration regis-tration should be entered upon the back of each coupon by the holder of the book, preferably in ink, before purchase. The same procedure applies to trucks and motorcycles. Holders of non-hieh- way coupons should endorse each coupon before presenting them for gasoline. In no case, however, the holder of the book must not detach the coupon from the book. This will invalidate the coupon. All truck owners may obtain parts and have necessary repair work done on their vehicles without with-out a Certificate of War Necessity Neces-sity until Jan. 1, 1943. This date was previously set for Dec. 1, 1942, but was postponed, as many certificates have not yet been received re-ceived by truck owners. |
