Show College Reports Indicate ' Enrolment Good Some Changes Being JIade In Faculty Set-Up; CPT Assistant Needed Winter quarter registration is now well under way, with little change in enrolment. The granting of credit up to the time that any of the boys may be called into military service, and the refunding refund-ing of any unused tuition charges, together with the organization of many classes that contribute directly di-rectly to militarv served to tone down the unrest of most of the boys. A few are discontinuing, but a few new students stu-dents are entering. Walter Miles of the Woodward faculty has been appointed as an instructor in the national defense program and as an assistant in the CPT set-up. He will take care of the work that would have been assigned to Rodney A. Ashby, Ash-by, who has been asked to continue con-tinue his work in the state defense de-fense program. An additional CPT assistant will yet have to be appointed. ap-pointed. Miss Bessie Snow, Woodward librarian, will take over Mr. Miles' duties at the Woodward. A new librarian is yet to be named. Named Chairman of Comm. Miss Linna Snow has been named chairman of a committee to supervise the war work of women in the college and in the community. She will be assisted by Mrs. Ann Robinson and Miss Margaret Jones. One of the first tasks of the committee is to make a survey of women in the community available- for- defense work.- . This - is part of the national program. It is a well-known fact that the women of the country now con stitute a large share of the reserve re-serve workers in the United States. Women found available as a result of the census will be invited in-vited to enroll in courses now organized at the college, and additional ad-ditional courses will be oranized to meet the demand. One of the prospective courses is one in sheet metal for women. More details of the women's program is to be found in a separate sep-arate article which summarizes a bulletin of the U. S. Office of Education. John T. Woodbury's class in reconstruction problems to follow the war has started and meets each Monday night at 8 in the Education building. Others interested inter-ested are invited to join the class. |
