Show WOODWARD SCHOOL Mrs. Bradford's third grade We are studying about our bird friends. We are finding out that birds are man's best friends. We had Dr. Beck tell us about the birds that live around here. We j wrote a letter to ask him to come and another to thank him for coming. We went down to the pastures by the temple to hunt for birds' nests. We found many different kinds. We are taking them apart to find out what materials the birds use in building their nests. We enjoyed having all the teachers teach-ers come last Friday. We hope they enjoyed seeing us. Miss Seegmiller's fifth grade We are still studying about "How Our Country became the United States." Each of our committees are getting things done. The map committee has nearly finished three maps. Three sections of cur border which is to tell the story of the Revolution are up. The play committee has a play on "Making the First Flag," nearly completed. The picture show committee com-mittee will soon have an interesting interest-ing show for us. The constitution committee has made a constitution constitu-tion for the room. . The pupils are signing it. The booklet committee is making a book called "Who's Who." They have two or three sheets of it done. The poster committee com-mittee has almost gotten its poster post-er done. Miss Foremaster's fourth grade We are studying about the pioneers. pion-eers. Mrs. Arnold, secretary of the Daughters of the Pioneers sent us a beautiful picture of the route the pioneers took in coming to Utah and Leo A. Snow gave us a map of St. George. They have both been very useful in our work. We went to visit Mr. Reed's room and we had him tell us about Dixie Pioneers. We enjoyed enjoy-ed our visit. Mr. Neilson's seyenth grade We, the students of Mr. Neilson's seventh grade, have been writing seventh grade have been writing the autobiography of our lives. I When they are finished we will make a book of them. We have also studied about Lincoln Lin-coln and will study about Washington Wash-ington this month. Last Friday, we were visited by teachers from Iron, Beaver, Garfield, Gar-field, Piute, Kane and Washington Washing-ton counties. Mr. Snow's seventh grade Mr. Snow's geography class has been studying the continent of South America. Each student was given a particular responsibility to report re-port on. Some very fine talks were given. The class was divided divid-ed into groups with Cherrie Snow, Gena Hfgbee, Dick Klink, Grace Bentley, Edna Sorenson, and Shirley Shir-ley Simmons as leaders. All stu-dents stu-dents drew maps and some brought pictures. We are going to try it again soon. |
