Show DIXIE COLLEGE The assembly program last Friday Fri-day was very interesting and entertaining. en-tertaining. It was given by the Boy Scouts of St. George, and consisted con-sisted of stunts, instrumental music, mu-sic, and instructions in scouting. The last part of the program was turned over to the cheer leaders, who led the students in song and cheer practice for the B. A. C.Dixie C.-Dixie basketball games, held last week-end. The assembly this Friday is under un-der the direction of Miss Wood-house. Wood-house. It will have as its theme a burlesque ori the Supreme court system; the reason 'for this being that the Tri-Forensic meet is to be held that day, and the theme fits in with the central thought of the debating question. On Wednesday, February 19, we were fortunate In having as our guests Mls-s Meacham and Mr. Norr. Miss Meacham gave us an address on "personality," and Mr. Norr gave several Interesting readings. We enjoyed this program pro-gram very much, and wish to thank them very kindly for coming. com-ing. Many of the students are intending in-tending to attend the Parowan-Dixie Parowan-Dixie game at Parowan next Saturday Sat-urday night. We had as guests last week-end a large part of the B. A. C. student stu-dent body and the visiting teacher teach-er who came to attend the teachers' teach-ers' convention. According to a report received by the News, Mrs. Harold Weatherman Wea-therman died in a Salt Lake City hospital Saturday night of dip-theria. dip-theria. Mrs. Weatherman and her husband, Dr. Harold Weatherman, a CCC camp physician, spent last winter in St. George. Dr. Weatherman Wea-therman is reported seriously ill at the Fort Douglas hospital. |
