Show TOQUERVILLE We have had a wonderful storm and it i.-n't over yet. We expect good crops this year. Saturday night a meeting was held to see about raising grapes and a winery in the county. Sunday night a fruit growers meeting was held in Toquerville and surrounding towns. iSunday the seminary students attending Hurricane high school from here gave the program. Talks were given by Maxine Slack, Mary Alice Bringhurst, Elizabeth Bring-hurst Bring-hurst and Quentine Beatty. Friday our school was visited by Superintendent Moody and a group of teachers from the county and state. Friday afternoon our teachers attended institute at St. George. Mrs. G. M. Smllsbury Irft for Los Angeles with her daughter, Mrs. Allie Stout.. Mrs. Stout went to receive medical aid. Mrs. Emma Naegle left Sunday for Cedar City to visit her son, George Naegle. Mr. and Mrs. " Paul iWOrthen and children of Minersville visited , Mr. and Mrs. Harry Slack on Monday. Mon-day. Monday night, February 17 the P. T. A. held their Founder's day program. The program consisted of a skit by Leland Bringhurst and Mrs. Leslie Bringhurst; solo, Henry Bringhurst; talk, "The Origin Or-igin of P. T. A." by Mrs. Jennie Lamb; quartet, Lloyd Jackson, Harvey Theobald, Reed Beatty, Harry and Edwin Slack; community commun-ity singing conducted by Miss Blanch Lamb and Miss Buelah Kleinman. Games were under the direction of Mrs. Irma Bringhurst and Boyd Dennett. Our birthday cake was then lighted and a cafeteria cafe-teria lunch was enjoyed by all. About sixty parents and teachers were present. Sunday night the play, "The Other Apostle," was presented by Toquerville to the Hurricane ward. His was under the auspices aus-pices of the M. I. A. Friday afternoon a stork shower show-er was held for Mrs. J. T. Beatty. Thoee attending the funeral at Mesquite for George Granger were Mr. and Mrs. William Bringhurst and sons, Archie and Ben. |
