Show ,ess, TOURISTS AND ST. GEORGE :h. " Our attention was recently called to the condition of mple street. This street is the one that tourists use in j-r-.ing down to view the Temple a street that is being used 1 0 ore and more for this purpose, and for that reason it is our i ij ilief that it should be kept in good condition. ! " j We all know that when we have visitors the first two ; g aces we take them is to the Temple and up on the Sugar Jaf. For this reason these two roads should be kept in the st possible condition. St. George, as the gate-way to scenic er luthern Utah, or the "last place that visitors see on 'their lu. ay out, should do everything possible to make the visitors ay here pleasant. Considering the money that is spent here by tourists, we -e woefully lacking in many of the accomodations that Murists have learned to expect from towns similar to ours. 'Ahe most urgent need is a park where they can rest for a y iort time to break the monotony of the journey. Last year 5 le Chamber .of Commerce went on record favoring the plant-j plant-j ig of grass and trees- about the court house. They pointed ' it that with a few benches and seats, tap water, grass and ees this could be made a very nice spot for the tourists to st for a short time. The fixing of. a park at such a place should in no way "jlnder the development of the present City park as they ilith would fill a need in the community. |
