Show Dixie College News Advertising programs for the Dixie junior college Fine Arts Festival were taken to several towns over the week end states Ross Hardy, Festival publicity manager. Friday, Dec. 1, at 9 a.m. Laurel Abbott and Harold Higgins were presented in vocal solos and duets at Parowan high school with read- 1 : i Tvrm-m r"w anrl Vinnirt music by Joe Talley and Kenneth Kenworthy, Mrs. Joan Pace was the accompanist. Mr. Hardy gave the talk on the Fine Arts Festival. Festi-val. This same group was heard over KSUB at Cedar City at 10:30 a.m.; in the B.A.C. assembly, at 11 a.m. and the Enterprise high school at 2:30 p.m. Group No. 2 of entertainers included in-cluded Viola Wohlgemuth, Noma Andrus and Robert Pendleton in vocal solos with duets by Miss Wohlgemuth and Mr. Pendleton, who are opera leads. Readings were by Grant Cottam and Rodney Rod-ney Ashby of the college faculty gave the address. Miss Elaine Bradshaw of Hurricane was accompanist. ac-companist. This group appeared at Kanab at 11 a.m. and at Hurricane Hur-ricane high school at 2 p.m. on Friday. On Monday, Dec. 4, a third group performed at Moapa high school, in Overton at 9a.m.; at Virgin Valley high school, at Bunkerville, at 11 a.m. and at Mesquite at 2 p.m. These programs pro-grams included vocal solos by Harold Higgins, Noma Andrus and Maxine Abbott; readings by Garland Gar-land Turner, banjo music by Joe Talley and Ken Kenworthy; dance numbers by Beulah Smith and D. C. Watson; accompanist Elaine Bradshaw and faculty speakers Pearson H. Corbett and Earl Cottam. Cot-tam. All groups were happy with the fine response given them at each of the schools visited. |
