Show MIA. Quarterly Conference Held Here The M.I.A. quarterly conference held in the Recreation hall at 7:30 p.m. Sunday was in charge of Herman Larkin, stake M.I.A. president. Musical numbers included congregational con-gregational singing of "Praise to the Men Who Communed With Jehovah", quartet, "The Lord Is My Light" 1939 theme song of the M.I.A.; "A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief", by Melba Baker, Alice Cannon, Dean Peterson and Herman Her-man Larkin; and duet, "Author of Light and Life" by Melba Baker and Alice Cannon. Mrs. Mae A. Pace was accompanist. Mrs. Eva Heaton discussed the 1939 M.I.A. theme and led in the concert recitation. The remainder of the program was in charge of Grant Whitehead, White-head, who introduced talks by Scout Ralph Hafen on "Joseph Smith's First Vision", Bee Hive girl, Evelyn Smith on the mission of Joseph Smith; Erwin Foster on "Divine Authority" and Garn Heaton on "The Value of A Testimony Testi-mony and how this can be obtained." ob-tained." Sunday evening meeting was held in Enterprise with Apostles George F. Richards and Reed Smoot as principal speakers on their return to Salt Lake City. |
