Show Guard Unit Reports Good Training Period Company "C" of the National Guard attended a very enjoyable and instructive training period held in Cedar City from November Novem-ber 19 to 25, inclusive. The Third Battalion of the 222nd Field Artillery Artil-lery encamped at Cedar City during dur-ing the period and Company "C" 115th Engineers were attached for special training purposes. Sixty-one enlisted men and two officers attended from St. George. The officers report that Adjutant General Williams and Colonel Weiler, commanding officer, of the 115th Engineers and other officers in charge, were very well pleased with the work of the local unit. The unit is at present at the full strength of 74 enlisted men j and many of the boys have received re-ceived promotions during the last three weeks. Lieutenant Cannon states that there may "become vacancies within the near future and anyone interested in joining should make application to be placed on the waiting list. The regular drill schedule now consists of drill twice a , week, Mondays and Wednesdays for a period of one hour and 30 minutes. The public is cordially invited to attend, observe the drill work and inspect the Armory. Additional equipment was received re-ceived in time for field training camp, consisting of five trucks, field range, uniforms and other necessary equipment. The drill for this week consists of training in Close Order Drill, Manuel of Arms and First Aid. |
