Show Mothers Honored By Legion, Auxiliary at Monday Night Meet A special Mother's Day meeting meet-ing was conducted last Monday evening by the local American Legion and Auxiliary posts held in the open air pavilion. Members Mem-bers of the Legion and Auxiliary Auxili-ary were also in attendance. The program presented was in keeping keep-ing with the program outlined by the National organization and was conducted by Commander Gordon Mathis. "invocation "A Father's Prayer" Pray-er" was given by Chaplin Vernon Worthen. Commander Mathis introduced in-troduced the subject of the evenings even-ings program which commenced the topics of: 'How to Make Motherhood Safe and How We Can Prevent Nearly Two-thirds of the Deaths in Childbirth". Dr. W. J. Reichmann was the principal speaker of the evening. He chose as his subject, "giix Keys to Safety for Motherhood". Mathew Bentley introduced a resolution prepared by the National Na-tional organization which pledged pledg-ed the Post to do everything in its power to develop in the community com-munity an informed public that will not be satisfied with less than early and adequate core for every expectant mother. The resolution res-olution was adopted and a committee com-mittee on National Health was authorized. Special musical numbers furnished furn-ished during the meeting included a vocal -duet by Vernon Worthen and Karl E. Fordham and a violin vio-lin solo by Mrs. Vera Christian. After concluding remarks by the commander lunch was served by the entertainment committee and dancing was enjoyed until 11 p. m. |
