Show Big Parade To Open Dixie Homecoming September 3, 4, 5 Plans for the opening of the 7 5th Homecoming anniversary celebration to be held next September Sept-ember 3, 4, and 5 with a parade featuring the old and the modern were formulated at a meeting of the committee held last Tuesday night. It is the plan of the committee in charge, of which William Mosely is the chairman, that this shall be one of the big events of the celebration. Every community commun-ity in the county and every organization or-ganization and business will be asked to enter 'floats. Prizes are to be offered and honors distributed distri-buted for various classifications. As many bands and musical organizations or-ganizations as possible will be asked to take part in this parade, the commiittee said. Committees R. M. Reber has been appointed appoint-ed as chairman of the general committee with A. B. Andrus as secretary. Mr. McArthur as chairman of the finance committee requested each chairman to imake and estimate esti-mate of the funds that his committee com-mittee would need so that a budget bud-get could be drawn up and a campaign outlined to raise the money. It is the plan of the commitee to give honors to the '61 pioneers and also to those who came here during the years of '62 to '72. All entertainment is to be furnished free to those honored 'gue.-ts.
