Show Plans Announced By School Board For St. George Schools The St. George schools will be conducted on a 6-4-4 plan for the coming year according to Superintendent Super-intendent Milton E. Moody. This plan will consist of the first six grades in the elementary school, the next four in the junior high school and the last four years in the senior high school and junior college. There will be a principal for both the elementary and the junior high schools. All teachers must meet the state requirements for certification. Vernon Worthen, present principal prin-cipal of the Woodward school, will continue as principal of the new elementary school building. This will be completed for the beginning of school next Jail. Newel Frei, who has been principal prin-cipal of the Enterprise higii school for the past six years, will be transferred to the princi-palship princi-palship of the new Dixie junior high school. The academic subjects sub-jects such as English, social science, sci-ence, and mathematics will be conducted in the Woodward school building which will be remodeled re-modeled by moving the lavatories lavator-ies from the top floor to the center north room on the lower floor. The hallway will ubso be remodeled in order to, improve the lighting for the different rooms, such as, agriculture and home economics and band and orchestra will be conducted in the Dixie junior college buildings. Physical education classes will be conducted in the new elementary building gymnasium and on the Woodward campus. The folowing will be 'full time teachers for these two divisions: Newel Frei, Vivian J. Frei. Haloid Hal-oid Snow, Lena Nelson, H. Val Hafen, and Arthur A. Paxman. B. Glen Smith the Dixie junior college will be divided intq two divisions the unner and low.er division. The lower division consisting of third and fourth year high school students will be known as the freshman and sophomores. The first year college will be known as juniors and the second year as seniors. The classes will he conducted the same as at the present, except that where classes are small, high school and college will be combined as one class. Athletics will be conducted as in the past. |
