Show STUDENTS VISIT SO. CALIFORNIA ON ANNUAL TOUR A group of Biology students under the direction D. Eldon Beck, head of the Biology department de-partment left Wednesday afternoon after-noon on the second annual tour of the cities of Southern California. Cali-fornia. The trip is being made for the purpose of showing the biology students types of plants and animals ani-mals living in their natural hab-tat. hab-tat. It will be a school on wheels, which will give the students more than just a picture of what has lived. The places which will be visited visit-ed are those of most interest and educational to college students. stu-dents. The .group will arrive in Los Angeles Thursday in time for rest and a visit to the Los Angeles City Hall where a guide will show the sources of water and electricity for California Cali-fornia cities. A trip to the Ostrich Os-trich and Alligator Farm will show how ostriches and alligators alli-gators are raised and taken care of from the time of birth until they are grown. The alligators grown -during their entire life which is from the age of one to five hundred years. The Los Angeles Exposition park will be visited as well as the University of Southern California. Teachers paid particular attention at-tention to see that all of the children entered into the dances. Each child had his name pinned on himself so that each one knew with whom he was dancing. Many friendships were formed among children who had never seen each other before. The various schools put on stunts in a creditable manner, declare de-clare those in charge, showing that a considerable amount of time and effort had been put in on the stunts. There was no school identification identifi-cation but the children were divided di-vided into color igroups and each stayed with his particular group throughout the day. The children left at 5 p. m. to return to their homes. When questioned they reported that they were tired but happy and were already making plans for the Play Day next year. |
