Show FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR HAROLD SWAPP SEPTEMBER 23 KANAB, UTAH, September 26 --s-Funeral services for Harold Swapp, 15 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Swapp, were held in the Kanab Tabernacle on Monday, September 23. The services ser-vices were conducted by three wards with the bishop of each, the Kanab, St. George East and the Enterprise, giving a short talk. Bishop Chamberlain of the Kanab j ward presided. Four boys from j the- Enterprise ward and two Jrom i the Kanab ward were the pall bearers. The opening song, a solo, "I Know that my Redeemer Lives," was sung by Boyd McAllister, accompanied ac-companied by the Kanab choir. The opening prayer was given by J. G. Shumway. Bishop Joseph 6. Terry, of Enterprise En-terprise ward, spoke of his association associ-ation with Harold and the Swapp family and attempted to console the family in their loss. A vocal duet was sung by Mrs. Tietjen and Rust of Kanab. Professor Pro-fessor Earl J. Bleak, of the Dixie Junior college, played a trumpet solo. President Charles C. Heaton stated that he had known the 'family 'fam-ily for years and told of their life work and character and the clean life that he knew that Harold had j lived and been reared under. Arthur Terry, of the Enterprise j ward, sang a solo, "Lay My Head , Beneath A Rose." j Bishop Cottam, of the East St. I George ward, told of Harold's j work while a Deacon of his ward j and said that he was glad to be able to report Harold's activities; as he had been closely associated J with him and declared tht Harjldj was always found at his post of duty and ready to assist in every way possible. He closed by raying ray-ing that he knew that Harold was still at work. ! Bishop Chamberlain, of the Kan-! ab ward, spoke of Harold's activities activ-ities while in his ward and vari-( tied the reports of the other speakers speak-ers and said that each bore a strong testimony a: the Gospel and the assurance of meeting Harold in the hereafter. The benediction was offered by Hi. h p Arthur K. Surviving him are his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Eliza Sargent, Delta; Mrs. Lorma Shemway, Kanab; El Forda, Gordon E. and Burns J. of Enterprise.
