Show EMPLOYMENT NEED SEEN AT COLLEGE TO INSURE ENROLLMENT The enrollment at the Dixie college col-lege at the close of the second week shows a small decrease over a corresponding period last year The enrollment of regular students stu-dents numbers 130 compared with 138 last year. Nine specials bring the total college enrollment this year up to 139. Many more students stu-dents are anxious to enroll, but financial conditions will not permit. per-mit. Students seem to be in need more than ever before, the percentage per-centage of notes signed being higher high-er than that of last year. This is in spite of the fact that general conditions seem to be improved. Of course, the security is better; but the fact remains that many students are unable to provide sufficient security to attend school. Everything possible is being done to create work situations. Word has just been received of a new work project for college students whose families are on relief. Application is now being made to get this work started. Hur-ricane. This has caused a material mater-ial increase in the Hurricne high school enrollment. The St. George enrollment is now 415. Last year at this time it was 425. Free transportation has brought our enrollment en-rollment above what it otherwise would have been. |
