Show Congress Ends Vacation Washington Its Christmas vacation over, Congress returned to the capitol to face a legislative task that must be tackled with coats off and sleeves rolled roll-ed up if it is to be completed in the hare two months that remain of the present session. The senate with the impending fight over tho seating of Frank L. Smith gf Illinois, has tho harder job, but the house probably will find little time in which to twiddle its thumbs. The fight against Smith, based bas-ed on his part in the million dollar Illinois Ill-inois primary of last spring, it is not expected to break before ths mddle of the week when the senator-designate arrives in Washington. In the meantime, mean-time, however, both sides undoubtedly will formulate plans for the approaching approach-ing battle. |
