Show ELDER COXDIE ENJOYS MISSION Brunswick, Georgia, December 27, 1926. Dear Editor: I continually think, when I receive the Home Paper, that I must vrite and express my thanks for it. It is the main connecting link between me and good old Dixie. I sure enjoy it. In fact, the other day I became so engrossed in reading it, I had a new pair of shoes "lifted" right from under my nose. This, my first Christmas away from home, has been my happiest. The reason is evident, I am engaged in the work of the Lord, preaching the gospel of salvation, feeding His sheep. I have surely been remembered and blessed during this holiday season. The many encouraging and friendly letters indicate to me that the people of my homeland are interested in me. This moral support carries untold value to a young missionary. There are four of us together for holidays, enjoying a little rest and diversion from our strenuous country coun-try work. The weather is ideal, warm and pleasant. Seems like home except the air we breathe is not so pure and clean as it is in the valley's val-ley's of the mountains. About 10 days ago I picked some beautiful oranges at the home of one of our members in Florida. Today we have been visiting some large ships which are docked near the city. This is one of the largest shipping points for rosin and turpentine in the world. A missionary, you can readily see. has wonderful experiences and opportunities opportuni-ties for education. The south is a fruitful field of labor. I can think of no mission field where I would rather be. As the people read their Bibles a great deal, it is necessary for one to study constantly to be able to cope with those who wish to "argufy" concerning concern-ing the scriptures. As a rule, they enjoy hearing the word and we are able to hold friendly, spirited meetings meet-ings in many localities. Recently, my companion and I had the opportunity oppor-tunity to speak to an entire school. NVo gave them the ""Word of Wisdom" Wis-dom" and "Origin of American In-(I:an In-(I:an as the Book of Mormon reveals it" The students were interested and the faculty commented favor up- on it. We are ever searching fc-1 now methods of delivering our meJ . s;ne. ' am sure that a more humble, e'r-iil. e'r-iil. and campanionable group of missionaries than are laboring in the South cannot be found. And af the People seem to be in the "endujing" stage in regards to the gospel, we look hopefully for many to embrace it in the near future. I One may search in vain heti for the atmosphere of community spirit, brotherly love and unity that exists in St. George and is breathed I'rom t?le ''"S"? of the Home Paper, and though many of the elders get it'aeir home papers-. I have yet to see em1 "'at equals mine, in apprearanc a or content. I wish to express mv thanks'' to you and the many others who have"?"' graciously remembered me. If'1 good in the work I have undertaken and ask an interest in the faith and prayers of the people that I may be a factor for good and credit to my I home town. Sincerely, Elder LeRoy Condie.
