Show TEMBLOR CAUSES GENERAL ALARM CITIES AND TOWNS IN CENTRAL WASHINGTON ARE SHAKEN; CHIMNEYS TUMBLE Th: Tremor was Felt In Yak inn: Shortly Before 10 O'clock Thursday Morning Spokane, Wash Violent earth tremors which sent alarmed persons running from shaking buildings were felt throughout central Washington at 10 a. m. Thursday. The disturbance centered around Kntiat in north-central Washington where a chimney was shaken off of a house on one of the main streets and many residents reported that furniture and dishes In their homes were severely severe-ly shaken. The tremblor was felt in Yakima shortly before 10 o'clock Thursday morning. Employees in various ofliccs in the federal building there reported that their desks were moved back and forth by the shock. Other Yakima residents res-idents within a radius of five miles fioin the federal building also reported roticeable shocks. A shock lasting two minutes was recorded at 9:57 a. m. by the seismograph seismo-graph at the University of Gonzaga. Us center was Ideated 500 miles away. A few minutes later residents of Yakima Yak-ima and Wenatcbsa felt the tremors. |
