Show WOODWARD SCHOOL I Miss Worthen's first grade Morning: We are making a store. It is a department store. The frame will soon be made. We are making it of boards and boxes. We like our store. Afternoon: We are going to have a first grade store. We will have grocery and toy departments. We are making it of boards and boxes. We have a 'pretty Valentine Valen-tine box. Miss Foremaster's fourth grade Miss ' Beth Stephens and Miss Phyllis Nisson are teaching us in our Social Studies. We are studying about Columbus and the men who helped to discover our country, and make it such a good place to live in. We are making a frieze of the life of Columbus. We are also making up a play about Columbus. Our room is gayly decorated for the birthdays we celebrate in February. The sixth, seventh, and eighth grades are making February decorations de-corations in art. The eighth grades are making drawings of the Colonial men and women dancing the minuet. The seventh grade also has a colorful border of Valentine ladies, cupids, and hatchets. The sixth grades are making swords and shields. The Woodward is attempting to carry out the aim of the American Legion Auxiliary in trying to have the American flag fly over every school building in the country during the month of February. The Woodward has fixed a new flag pole at the west end of the building and will see that the flag is raised each morning and lowered each evening by scouts in our school.
