Show ANNIVERSARY OF SCOUTING WIIL BE CELEBRATED HERE The local celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the birth of Scouting in America will culminate with a cooperative community good turn Saturday. The three troops of St. George will unite in completing a project which should be much appreciated appre-ciated by the citizens of St. George. The plans are to make a road so that cars may be driven directly di-rectly to the Light Cave. It is also planned to improve the ascent to the Sugar Loaf. At the present time it is very difficult dif-ficult for older people to get to the top. When the Scouts get through it is hoped that any one will', be able to make the ascent with ea-se. Tuesday evening a successful Circus was held in Washington, the three St. George troops joining join-ing with the Washington troop in the enterprise. A large crowd was in attendance, and the general gen-eral sentiment is that the project pro-ject was very much worth, while. The program started with the dramatization of the song "Ho for the Slums," by the Washington Washing-ton troop. .This was followed by a one act play, "These Fathers," by the West Ward troop. The South Ward gave an interesting demonstration on tent construction construc-tion and stretcher building. Rud-ger Rud-ger McArthur of the West Ward sang "The Flying Trapeeze." The climax- of the program was the animal and clown act given by the East Ward- Dolph Lund, Scoutmaster of the Washington troop was master of ceremonies. At. the conclusion conclu-sion of the circus he asked Commissioner Com-missioner B. Glen Smith to make a few ' remarks. |
