Show Three rescued on Green River by AF helicopter Three persons were rescued Friday morning near the Sand Wash raft launch site on the Green River after their plane was reported missing at 9:15 p.m., Thursday. Paul Sullivan, Louis Cooper and the pilot, Mike Hancock, Roosevelt were lifted out by a Hill Air Force Base helicopter about 9 a.m. Friday after one of the Cessna Skymaster's engines failed and the plane crash-landed, reported Uintah County Sheriff Deparment. The plane was reported missing w hen it failed to return from a flight from Roosevelt to the Sand Wash Launch site where it was to drop supplies to a rafting party on the Green River. The crash site was located about 5:30 a.m. Friday when searchers spotted a large SOS sign stamped in the sand and the three men standing nearby. All three men were treated for minor cuts and bruises. |
